Big time talent comes in a small package. Emmyerie Smith, a Tumbler at Mr. Ernie’s Flip Flop and Fly in Maywood, IL, started taking tumbling classes when she was just 5 years old. Now at age 8, she recently went to Belvidere, IL to compete in the State Tumbling Competition. She placed First in both Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline, a feat that requires near perfect runs. Her Coach Cassia Cantelmo says “Emmyerie is a hard worker who is always focused and gives 100% in practice and while competing,” she goes on to say that “her family is extremely supportive and encouraging.” Emmyerie is now headed to the National Tumbling Competition in South Dakota on June 16th but she won’t be going alone. 15 other Tumblers from Flip Flop and Fly also qualified and we are expecting big things from all of these rising stars.
